what is west coast swing?

West Coast Swing (WCS) is a lead-follow partner dance that originated from the swing family of dances. It is the smoother version of swing and is generally danced in a linear slot. WCS can be danced to a wide range of genres, including moderate tempo blues, R&B, pop, Christian and contemporary music. It is known for its elasticity where dancers interpret music both together and individually. Today, WCS instructors, dancers and events can be found throughout the entire world.
